I received a text today from a Trump-supporting family member with images attached claiming that the photos of the crowd at a Harris campaign rally event are AI-generated to make the crowd appear larger.
The photos are said to be taken from the official Harris campaign TikTok account.
The images are zoomed-in, alleging to show people in the crowd displaying the hallmark deformities of AI-generated humans; too many fingers, an extra limb, deformed faces, etc.
Signs are shown with gibberish written on them, a hallmark of text in AI-generated images.
(Not a sponsor, just want to shout out the Bing chatbot for creating images I’ve used with perfectly written/spelled text. Other options I tried failed to do that, but I am not implying that Bing is the only chatbot with that ability. Especially when you consider the daily improvements in AI capabilities.)
What I think about the so-called AI-generated images
My personal opinion is that someone took actual photos from the Harris campaign TikTok account and then either used photoshop to alter them or used the original photos as prompts for AI to generate similar images.
I’ve seen photos taken from people who were actually present at the rallies, so the crowd sizes are 100% authentic.
I want to give a shout-out to the amazing women who took rally photos in the Pennsylvania Women For Harris Facebook group.
If you’re a woman in Pennsylvania who supports Harris, you should be in this group!
They are lucky to have attended a rally event, so I’m a little jealous, but the images and videos they posted gave me an authentic view of the crowd, so I was able to easily blow off these images.
I’m sharing them to try and prevent this false claim from spreading like wildfire on social media, so please share to get the word out!
Once I have an official fact-check article, I will share it.

I’ve reported this to Politifact, so hopefully they will do an official fact-check in order to debunk this claim. I’ll share it with you here if they do.
I don’t want this misinformation/conspiracy theory to gain too much traction.
By the way, this has the Trump campaign’s fingerprints all over it. Trump is absolutely furious that Harris and Walz are getting much larger crowds than his rallies have been getting.
If not someone from the Trump campaign, then just a diehard supporter wanting to please Donald Trump.
To alter photos of the Harris campaign rally crowd to make them appear to be AI-generated will definitely please “Orange Jesus.”
