Member Collections—How to add and remove items

As a member, you have access to several predefined collections—History, Read Later, and Bookmarks—but you can also create your own. For instance, maybe you’re into climate activism. You could create a Climate collection where you save posts related to climate change.

Maybe you love memes (who doesn’t?). You could create a Meme collection and anytime you come across one in the Member’s Activity Stream or the main NewsStream, you can add it to the collection using the options at the end of every post.

To add an item (post) to a collection, please do as follows:

  1. Click the Add to Favourites or Read Later link from:
  2. Archive view – under each post you should find post’s actions menu (screen, point 1)

Single view – at the end of the post content, you should find post’s actions

If you are logged out, you will be redirected to the collection’s welcome page (see the Welcome page section).

In the top right page corner, you will see the notification (screen, point 2)

The History collection is an exception. Posts are added to it automatically while members are browsing them.

Remove Items

To remove items from a collection, please visit its single page, expand the item’s actions (screen) and click the Remove from Collection link.
Or use the Clear All button to remove all.

Welcome page

If an anonymous user tries to add a post to a predefined collection, they can only see the welcome page. Each collection has its own dedicated texts, below the History collection as an example.
