UPDATE: Joe Manchin Admits GOP Allegiance by Mistake on Fox News

Joe Manchin revealed a lot more about himself than he may have realized while speaking with Brian Kilmeade on Fox News.

Zany: Can anyone in this audience honestly say this news is shocking? Manchin and Sinema voted against Biden’s attempts to do things that would benefit the American people again and again and again, to the point that I grew to hold resentment for both of them. In other words, they really pi$$ed me off! It appeared as if they had both been working for the GOP.

In fact, at one point I was watching Fox News (for the website) when Congress was about to vote on the bill for D.C. statehood. Brett Bair and a female host were discussing it when Brett says, “I talked to Joe Manchin on the phone earlier and I asked him about it and he said they have the votes to stop it, so unless something changes before the vote, it’s not going to pass.” I remember saying out loud, “Why the hell is Manchin talking to a Fox News host in a phone call about a vote?!” That’s when it became clear to me that he wasn’t a Democrat, he was there to stop Democrats from getting anything passed.

When I heard that Kyrsten Sinema was changing her party to Independent, after she’d run as a progressive initially, I recall thinking that no one should ever be allowed to do that in the middle of a term because it sets a dangerous precedent. What’s to stop Republicans from running as Democrats (since Republicans can’t win) and then just switching back once they’re in?

John Fetterman disappointed me more than any politician ever has because I never believe anything they say. I believed Fetterman was progressive and that he cared about regular Americans. Now, there is some nuance to my thoughts on this. I don’t agree that it was a con. I live in PA and prior to running he was Lt. Gov. of the state and he was the same guy we saw when he was a candidate. With that in mind, I think the shift in personality is due to the stroke he had. I had a stroke in 2016 and it changed little details of my personality and my perspective on things. My behavior changed as well.

There’s one more possibility, but I’m holding off on admitting to myself that he was corrupted by AIPAC and money in politics. He hasn’t been there that long, and to this day I don’t understand why people care so much about money donated to their campaign. It’s not like it’s going into your bank account so you can go out and buy a Ferrari. That would definitely affect anyone in Congress.
