Jennifer Hoewe is an associate professor within the Brian Lamb School of Communication at Purdue University. She also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Political Science at Purdue University. Dr. Hoewe studies media psychology and political communication. Specifically, her research program focuses on how political issues and groups of people are depicted in media content and how that content influences media consumers. She has published more than 50 scholarly publications and has received numerous research and teaching awards. She is a co-founder and co-director of the Purdue Research in Media Effects (PRIME) Lab and a Faculty Fellow with the Center for American Political History and Technology (CAPT). She is also the former Head of the Communication Theory and Methodology Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
