The dark side of ditching clean energy: Why a fossil fuel future is a step backwards

President Biden moved the country forward so we’re using more clean energy. 326 climate bills. President Trump just reversed them all in favor of fossil fuels.

The world has been making strides towards a clean energy future, with wind and solar power playing an increasingly vital role.

In the U.S., President Joe Biden was able to get a lot done in the form of environmental legislation to combat climate change. As a bonus, jobs were created along with each renewable energy project.

Many of us were focused on his actions with Israel/Gaza and condemning him for it. Meanwhile we were missing all of the progress he was able to make with climate change. (maybe that was just me, but I honestly was not aware of everything he and the Dems did.

They should have campaigned on it! If I, someone who has an IV line pumping news and politics into her veins 24/7, missed it, then there’s a good chance the non-politically obsessed were ‘t aware of it either. Take the poll, because now I’m curious.

It’s likely that most people don’t know that he did more for the environment than any President in history. Where was MSNBC on this? Why didn’t Biden or Harris tout it while campaigning?

According to an analysis by over 20 climate groups:

President Biden has done more to protect, restore, and secure our health and environment than any president in U.S. history, and the proof is in the numbers. According to a new analysis from Climate Power and 20 other climate groups, President Biden has taken more than 320 environmental actions to address climate change.

Donald Trump won the 2024 election and on his first day back in office, he reversed all of the progress the country had made in protecting the planet and combatting the damage fossil fuel companies have done.

Even with Project 2025 available to the public, people still weren’t prepared to have every climate accomplishment erased.

Instead of continuing to protect the environment, President Trump handed it over to the companies that caused the damage in the first place.

He has promised to cut regulations for fossil fuel companies and allow them to do whatever they want to our planet.

Note: 50 years ago, in 1977, Exxon’s scientists told them about climate change and how they were contributing to damaging our planet. The scientists also warned them about how it would end if they didn’t stop back then.

11 years later, in 1988, the American people first learned about climate change when it came out as a public issue.

It wasn’t until decades later that someone discovered internal documents from Exxon showing their climate scientists had warned them about the damage they were doing to the environment decades earlier! They had warned Exxon executives about what would happen if they continued.

Yet they continued, unfazed, for decades! Even worse, they knew how bad what they were doing was for the planet, yet consistently advertised the opposite for decades before the rest of the country became aware of climate change.

“President Biden did more for the environment than any other President in history. He signed 326 climate-related bills.”

It’s difficult to think about how different things might be if the people causing global warming had stopped when they first became aware of the damage they were causing. We can’t repair damage to our planet, now, but we could stop damaging it further!

The next four years are going to be tough for environmentalists, climate activists, and kind people in general.

I’ve already cried hearing a husband, who’s an American citizen, talk about his wife of 11 years from Venezuel, who was just about to get her green card when she got captured in one of Trump’s raids this weekend.

They’re grabbing citizens and the Navajo Reservation announced that some of the people in their community were detained. I guess non-White people all look the same to these ICE agents, deputized citizens, and paid bounty hunters (Greg Abbott offered $1,000 per immigrant they bring in.

Thus will not end well. I predict violence and bloodshed before it’s over.

Did you know that President Biden did more to address climate change than any other president?326 bills addressing climate change were signed by President Biden during his presidency. Many people were focused on the genocide in Gaza and the way he was handling it. I wasn't aware of how much he'd done for the environment, so I'm curious if I’m the only one or if MSM and the people running Biden’s, then Harris’ campaign completely neglected to tout it on the campaign trail.Pin

And now we see that the fossil fuel companies and the billionaires care more about money they don’t even need than they do about human beings floating around in space after our planet becomes uninhabitable There is no planet B.

Moving on because Im getting too angry

We should have been prepared for this move by President Trump—both emotionally and mentally—considering it’s all laid out in Project 2025.; getting rid of any mention of climate in government.

As Trump signed the order banning wind turbines, his comments made it clear he’s still salty about the “windmills” that were visible from his golf course in Scotland, Ever since he lost the court battle to have them removed, he has spread misinformation and lies about wind power.

So now many Americans question how we would have electricity if it’s a cloudy, windless day after we’ve switched to renewable energy sources.

As far as Project 2025 and climate change, it’s generally viewed as a “Democratic-hoax” to some on the right.

The push by President Trump to revert to using fossil fuels instead of wind or solar power presents a serious threat to our planet and our well-being. Here’s why:

Climate Catastrophe: Fossil fuels are the primary driver of climate change. Burning coal, oil, and natural gas releases massive amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, trapping heat and causing:

🚗 Rising global temperatures

🚗 More frequent and intense extreme weather events (heatwaves, droughts, floods)

🚗 Melting glaciers and rising sea levels

🚗 Disruption of ecosystems

Air Pollution and Health Risks: Fossil fuel combustion pollutes our air with harmful pollutants like:

💨Sulfur dioxide

💨 Nitrogen oxides

💨 Particulate matter

💨 These pollutants contribute to:

💨 Respiratory illnesses (asthma, bronchitis)

💨 Heart disease

💨 Lung cancer

💨 Premature death

Energy Insecurity: Relying heavily on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable to:

📈 Price fluctuations in the global fossil fuel market

📈 Geopolitical instability in oil-producing regions

📈 Supply chain disruptions

Environmental Damage: Fossil fuel extraction and transportation have devastating consequences:

🌎 Oil spills contaminate oceans and coastlines

🌎 Fracking contaminates groundwater

🌎 Mining destroys habitats and pollutes waterways

Economic Stagnation: Investing in fossil fuels locks us into outdated, polluting technologies, hindering innovation and competitiveness in the growing renewable energy sector.

The Bottom Line

Shifting away from clean, renewable energy sources like wind and solar power is a dangerous step backwards. It threatens our planet, our health, and our economic future. We must prioritize a transition to a sustainable energy system that protects our environment and ensures a healthy and prosperous future for all.
