After seeing Elon Musk on Hannity talking about how mean “the left” is being to him when all he’s done is try to help the American people by cutting “waste, fraud, and abuse.” (While people on the left are protesting at Tesla dealerships, I don’t think the left is setting fires and shooting into the dealerships. My theory is that it’s veterans who are angry after being fired by Elon and DOGE.)
Waste, fraud, and abuse: (Noun) Another term for “money to cover some of the trillions we’re giving billionaires so Americans won’t be too mad.” Examples: 1. “We’re cutting waste, fraud, and abuse from the programs that help the most vulnerable people—like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security—so we can give that money to the top 1% in the country instead. 2. “$4.5 trillion isn’t that much. We cut $1 trillion in waste, fraud, and abuse to help pay for it!”
A lot of the acting out that’s taking place right now is an attempt to divert Americans’ attention from the Social Security offices they’re closing as they create new policies requiring people to go into a Social Security office to apply for benefits or to change direct deposit information.
This means some folks will now have to drive 100 miles or more to visit the nearest location. They’ve also fired thousands of workers and a former employee said the number of staff fired will lead to Social Security checks not arriving on time or significant wait times in the few offices that are left.
Keep in mind that the people who would be applying for or currently receiving benefits are elderly or disabled.
Then there’s $800 billion in cuts coming to Medicaid, according to the Republican’s budget framework recently passed in the House.
Tribal health centers prepare for a catastrophe when Medicaid benefits are cut. They say over 50% of people in the communities they serve are on Medicaid.
Anyone disabled or elderly living off of Social Security won’t be able to pay rent or buy food.
Nursing home residents whose stay and care is paid for by Medicaid will get kicked out. We’re going to see a sudden surge in homelessness among the elderly.
Then we found out how, on Saturday, DOGE staffers, with the help of FBI agents, broke into the building of a private nonprofit organization that was established as an independent agency by Congress under President Ronald Reagan 40 years ago. When George Moose, the CEO of the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) called DC police to report the break-in, the officers came and kicked out the staff and allowed DOGE to stay!

The organization is not part of the government. The building and land it’s on are owned by the organization, not the government. It’s the same as DOGE breaking into a family’s restaurant and taking it over just because it’s located in DC. The nonprofit promoted peace and prevented conflict all over the world.
(Another theory of mine: Putin might have asked Trump to do this. He did sign an executive order targeting it for cuts and the board members—Marco Rubio and Pete Hegseth—fired the current CEO so Trump could install his own person. (All of that just to shut down a private, independent organization that has been operating for 4 decades to bring peace to regions all over the world.)
Maybe the fact that they’re located in DC was the downfall of USIP. We know President Trump threatened to withhold funding from the city if Mayor Bowser didn’t paint over the BLACK LIVES MATTER art on the street and change the street name from Black Lives Matter Plaza to “Liberty Plaza.” Not only that, but the CR Chuck Schumer didn’t block from passing in the Senate cut $1 billion from the city’s budget.
The Mayor agreed to remove the art and change the street name, so it’s not clear why they cut the budget (other than an attempt to get as much money as possible to “cover” the Trump Tax cuts).

Elon Musk on Hannity is not eliciting sympathy/anger from everyone
So forgive us if we saw Elon Musk on Hannity and didn’t feel the same sympathy or rage that’s coming from MAGA.
He has callously fired thousands of veterans and other federal workers who have families to support and who will struggle to find another job after they’ve been fired for “poor performance” in order to eliminate the option for them to file for unemployment benefits and to provide a “cause” of the firing.
However, a judge caught onto their little game and called it out for being unnecessarily cruel. I guess they shouldn’t have used the exact same form letter for every employee they fired. The judge ordered all fired probationary federal workers be reinstated at certain agencies.
The CDC was one of those, but as of yesterday, the fired workers were still protesting in front of the CDC and told reporters they hadn’t received an email or phone call yet.
Elon Musk on Hannity looked shocked that people were being so mean in response to his political tirade. Check out these MAGA reactions. Jayar Jackson breaks it down.
