On Saturday “anti-war” President Donald Trump launched military attacks on Houthis in Yemen. Every group that has fought back in defense of the genocide in Gaza has been called a “terrorist group.” Whether they have committed acts of terrorism in the past or not. Benjamin Netanyahu has been attempting to manipulate the U.S. into starting a war with Iran on behalf of Israel for decades.
That includes inside the United States. President Trump sent armed federal agents to arrest a Columbia University student for his speech about peace between Israelis and Palestinians in the past. The government has decided to muddy the waters by claiming that pro-Palestine protesters are pro-Hamas, pro-terrorist or anti-Israel. None of which is true.
American citizens can speak out against the U.S. government as much as they want. They can burn the American flag. But if you speak out against the government of Israel, you are an antisemitic terrorist sympathizer. Make it make sense.
President Trump’s military attacks on Houthis in Yemen shatter the illusion that he is the “anti-war” President. He posted on social media announcing the attacks where he also threatened to attack Iran. If Trump starts a war with Iran, how sure are we that the ‘mad king’ won’t use the nuclear weapons? The 25th Amendment was discussed at the end of his first term over his mental instability. He is much worse this time around and the “adults in the room” who prevented him from starting a nuclear war with North Korea his first time in office are no longer around. Republicans in Congress will never stand up to him, so the guardrails are almost nonexistent.
There are no guardrails protecting us and the world from his temper tantrums and impulsive actions born from his emotional response to situations.
From reporting by Reuters:
“At least 19 were killed as U.S. President Donald Trump launched large-scale military strikes against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis on Saturday over the group’s attacks against Red Sea shipping, warning “hell will rain down” on them if they do not stop.
Trump also warned Iran, the Houthis’ main backer, that it needed to immediately halt support for the group. He said if Iran threatened the United States, “America will hold you fully accountable and, we won’t be nice about it!””
13 civilians have been killed in the bombings, according to reporting from the Associated Press:
”At least 13 people were killed, said Anees al-Asbahi, spokesman for the Houthi-run health ministry. In a statement on social media, he said another nine were wounded.
A U.S. official said this was the beginning of air strikes on Houthi targets that are expected to continue. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press.
Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of the Houthi media office, said the airstrikes won’t deter them and they would retaliate against the U.S. “Sanaa will remain Gaza’s shield and support and will not abandon it no matter the challenges,” he added on social media.”
