The world saw President Donald Trump’s Main Character Syndrome on full display Friday. It’s imperative that Congress and the Administration work together to figure out how to deal with it going forward before Trump destroys everything. Complicating things is his prior diagnosis of Malignant Narcissism, a severe form of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) that is mixed with Psychopathy.
350 psychiatrists and mental health professionals signed a letter to Congress warning of the danger the country would face should he be allowed back in office. They spoke to members of Congress and appeared on television to issue their warnings about a Psychopath being our leader.
I didn’t see any of this reported on mainstream media (only independent media). There were no Congressional hearings. The death of our democracy and freedom will be the fault of everyone who ignored facts presented by Psychiatrists (not Democratic activists!).
A Malignant Narcissist’s personality doesn’t remain stable throughout their lives the way it does with other personality disorders. Instead, it “tends to grow in the lifetime of the afflicted person. The more he tries to be a god, the more he isolates himself from the human race; this isolation makes him more frightened, everybody becomes his enemy, and in order to stand the resulting fright, he has to increase his power, his ruthlessness, and his narcissism.”
If that doesn’t sound like Donald Trump to you, are you sure we’re talking about the same person? His callous disregard for human life was made evident with the AI video he shared on social media of “Trump Gaza,” featuring a giant gold statue of Donald Trump, Trump and Netanyahu lounging on the beach with drinks, and Elon Musk throwing cash into the air—all of this after over 60,000 men, women and children were murdered there.
Thousands of bodies are still trapped under rubble. Celebrating a sick fantasy like that knowing it requires the ethnic cleansing of 2 million people who were starved, bombed, and tortured before being forced from their homeland, is beyond disgusting and heartless.
The traits of someone with NPD create an accurate description of President Trump, in the same way that Main Character Syndrome describes his behavior and the decisions he makes. The character traits and behaviors of Main Character Syndrome could also be attributed to NPD, but there’s one that stands out: Making decisions that put personal interests over those of the country.
The Classified Documents case should have been enough to convince people that he would sell out the country if it was going to benefit him in some way. I have my own theories about selling to the highest bidder (and a trove of Classified documents buried on his golf course). President Trump has already conducted personal business deals in the Oval Office this term. He signed the checks to repay Michael Cohen for the hush money payments to Stormy Daniels on that very desk in his first term.
That’s why his admonishment of Volodymir Zelenskyy on Friday for degrading the “cherished” Oval Office was laughable. Trump has made decisions putting his own interests above the American people and country many times.
If he respected Americans and was truly fighting for the working-class, why would he spend millions in taxpayer dollars to golf at his own resorts every weekend so far this term? To make money from the Office of the President.
Why would he have foreign officials coming to visit the White House stay at Trump Hotel and charge rates 5-10x more than at any other time? To make money off the… you get it.
During the Pandemic, Trump prevented the CDC, doctors, or anyone else from telling the American people the truth about the dangers of COVID. He knew how bad it was because we heard him telling Bob Woodward how easily it spread and how deadly it was.
When the official from the CDC initially spoke to the press about the dangers of COVID—how businesses and schools were going to shut down—Trump rushed back to D.C. from India, fired that person, then stood in front of America to downplay it as “No big deal.”

Why would he do that? Because after the truth came out, stocks started going down and Trump needed the economy to run on in 2020. He put the lives of the people he was supposed to protect second to his own political aspirations. A man who would rather see people die than risk losing an election is sick.
So how do we handle someone with a severe personality disorder and Main Character Syndrome being in charge of the richest, most powerful country in the world? I have a few thoughts and ideas to share.
What is Main Character Syndrome?
Main Character Syndrome is an interesting concept that describes individuals who see themselves as the central figure in every situation, often to the detriment of those around them. People with this syndrome tend to dominate conversations, dismiss the feelings or opinions of others, and have an inflated sense of self-importance.
You can spot the signs in anyone who constantly seeks attention and validation, often believing that their experiences are more significant than anyone else’s. Looking at the current landscape, President Trump embodies many traits associated with this syndrome.
His tendency to prioritize his narrative and reactions over collective concerns has not only shaped his personal relationships but has also had ripple effects on the political climate and global perception of the United States.

Main Character Syndrome: How it Affects Ukraine
People all over the world are still attempting to process what took place in the Oval Office on Friday. People in the United States are struggling to understand the reason for an attack on a long-standing ally—a leader whose country has been fighting for its survival going on 3 years.
The courageous Ukrainian people are attempting to defend themselves against Russia, a much larger country and a nuclear superpower. They didn’t ask for this war. Volodymir Zelenskyy is not responsible for “starting” this war. A sovereign nation was invaded by Vladimir Putin with the goal of taking back land that was once part of the Soviet Union.
One thing that became clear after the staged attack on Zelenskyy by President Trump and Vice President Vance was just how much Donald Trump’s case of Main Character Syndrome was affecting foreign policy.
A significant shift in the foreign policy of the United States took place Friday, with the country choosing to side with the likes of our adversaries; Russia, North Korea, and China. At the same time, the U.S. is abandoning its allies in Ukraine and Europe.
President Zelenskyy asking for a security guarantee in exchange for signing over minerals found in land in Ukraine that are of great value to someone like Elon Musk (lithium is used in the batteries of electric cars) is not at all “asking for too much,” as people have been claiming on X.
Some Americans are forgetting, or aren’t aware, that we signed a deal with Ukraine promising security guarantees in exchange for giving up their nuclear weapons. The 1994, The Massandra Accords set the stage for the ultimately successful trilateral talks.
As the United States mediated between Russia and Ukraine, the three countries signed the Trilateral Statement on January 14, 1994. Ukraine committed to full disarmament, including strategic weapons, in exchange for economic support and security assurances from the United States and Russia. Ukraine agreed to transfer its nuclear warheads to Russia and accepted U.S. assistance in dismantling missiles, bombers, and nuclear infrastructure.
Ukraine’s warheads would be dismantled in Russia, and Ukraine would receive compensation for the commercial value of the highly enriched uranium.
The Agreement removed their only method of deterring Russia—which was the argument of Ukrainian politicians who were against the idea of giving up the only “cards” (as Trump would say) they had to play against Russia. Just as Putin had broken peace deals several times, the U.S. has reneged on its end of the deal.
As an American, I’m ashamed of the lack of integrity it shows the world. The United States can no longer be trusted and Europe is now admitting this as they work to assist their ally, Ukraine, and begin their own attempt at peace talks between Presidents Putin and Zelenskyy.
Our Future
Everything happening both domestically and globally right now is only going to get worse if you factor in Trump’s Main Character Syndrome.
His self-centered focus not only influences personal connections but also significantly affects the political landscape and international views of the nation. Main Character Syndrome can hinder effective communication and damage relationships.
Those who possess these traits often find it challenging to empathize with others’ viewpoints, resulting in disputes and misinterpretations. Identifying and confronting this behavior is vital for improving social interactions and avoiding isolation. We can see the isolation of America growing each day.

Alone is a dangerous place to be in times of war, natural disasters, and public health emergencies. President Trump has already withdrawn the U.S. from the World Health Organization (WHO) and VP Vance gave a speech at the Munich Conference lecturing European leaders that offended and alienated our allies.
The U.S. recently voted against our allies and with Russia on a United Nations resolution clarifying that Russia started the conflict in Ukraine by invading the country. None of these moves have improved our relationships with allies, advanced our standing on the global stage, or did anything at all to make things better for the country or its citizens.

By acknowledging the presence of Main Character Syndrome, individuals affected can begin to work towards developing empathy and understanding towards others.
*Laughter can be heard all over the world as people read the sentence above.*
President Trump has no desire to do anything about this.
A malignant narcissist isn’t going to admit they have any flaws, including Main Character Syndrome. Without admitting the problem, you can’t work toward a solution.
What can we do? Without speaking to a Psychiatrist or Psychologist, there aren’t any answers to provide other than an opinion. I believe the only way to survive this administration is to have the people working around President Trump learn about it, along with NPD, and attempt to make decisions that take the characteristics of Main Character Syndrome into consideration.
People will have to say and do things around the President in a way that p counteracts these traits. Everyone knows Trump responds to flattery. People working around him can use that part of his character to achieve a desired outcome.
For instance, they need his signature to release funding to help the victims of the wildfires in California, but you know he doesn’t want to help California because it’s a blue state and he hates the governor. Yes, he’s supposed to be the leader of all Americans and every state, but that just isn’t how he thinks.
President Trump’s Main Character Syndrome makes him less likely to do anything that isn’t going to benefit him in some way. Staff in his first administration pre-emptively gathered data on the area of a fire: how many people living there are Republican? How many people voted for Trump in that county? They were able to get him to send disaster relief by showing him how many of his voters were suffering there.
For this example, follow their strategy and tell him lots of people living there voted for him, adding, “they are so proud that you’re the President and they know you’re going to be the hero that saves them.” It will work.
Similar to manipulating a toddler, its the new normal for staff working around President Trump. Main Character Syndrome is just one of the many issues he has that contribute to his being a terrible human being.
I’ll end by saying this: We’re all fu***d.
