Trump’s first Cabinet meeting was terrifying

Donald Trump's first cabinet meeting was eye-opening. Jayar Jackson breaks it down.

President Trump held the first cabinet meeting full of billionaires the other day and it was just as crazy as you imagined it would be.

Remember the first cabinet meeting of his first term?

Everyone was praising Trump and thanking him for the opportunity the be in his presence, at his service, in an over-exaggerated way that made them all look pathetic.

It was the most embarrassing thing I had ever witnessed and I remember being surprised that some of these career professionals were willing to lick Trump’s “sack,” basically.

The first cabinet meeting of this term was completely different from last time. I don’t have factual reporting that explains why, but I can give you my honest thoughts on why there wasn’t any “kissing of feet” this time.

It’s been widely reported that Donald Trump looks up to billionaires. He wants to be a member of their elite circles in society, he just hasn’t been able to infiltrate that bubble.

While billionaires and the Big Tech “bros” are taking a knee and giving President Trump all the money he wants, they are still in social circles that he idolizes and wants to be a part of.

He’s not going to ruin his chances of joining the “cool kids club” by ordering them to kiss his feet on live television and praise him like a god during the first cabinet meeting. I want to say that he has “respect” for them compared to the members in his first cabinet, but Trump has no respect, compassion, or empathy for anyone other than himself.

Instead I’ll explain it as him not wanting to push any of his new “friends” away, who have more money than the so-called billionaire Donald Trump himself.

Finally, Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, standing above everyone else, speaking to the cabinet members when he’s not even a member of the Cabinet, probably had some of the members feeling uncomfortable.

The first Cabinet meeting of the Trump Administration was strange, particularly when the President was talking about his new $5 million Gold Card.

A reporter asked him if Russian oligarchs would be able to buy American citizenship and he said they could, mentioning that he “knows some Russian oligarchs” and they are “very nice people.” I don’t know if it occurred to anyone else, but I feel like Trump being friendly with Russian oligarchs is a bad thing.

Especially for the President of the United States. It explains why one of the very first actions of the DOJ under Pam Bondi was to shut down a program that confiscated the superyachts of Russian oligarchs.

He also said the country stood to gain $50 trillion from the sale of these cards if he sells 10 million of them, which he believes he can. He noted that they could pay the $36 trillion the country currently owes in debt, with extra money left over.

What he failed to consider is that his “big, beautiful” budget bill that just passed in the House (that includes his tax cuts for the rich) is going to add up to an additional $23 trillion to the current debt over the next 10 years, according to the Senate Budget Committee.

For a President who champions Elon Musk and the work of the DOGE team in making cuts and “saving money,” he sure doesn’t seem concerned about adding that much to an already out-of-control deficit. Last year, we paid $1 trillion just in interest alone.
