ICE detains Native Americans as Trump deportations go off the rails

Native Americans have been caught up in the sweeping immigration enforcement efforts initiated by President Trump.

American citizens, including members of Native tribal nations, have been caught up in the sweeping immigration enforcement efforts initiated by President Donald Trump, fulfilling his campaign pledge to launch mass deportations from day one.

Editor: Immigration organizations and activists have been sounding the alarm since before President Trump took office about the possible consequences of his deportation policy.

Mass deportations will affect American citizens in terms of food shortages, rising prices, and job losses when businesses are forced to close due to worker shortages.

The fact that American citizens—a veteran was detained earlier this week—and Native Americans are getting caught up in these sweeps is just icing on the irony cake. As people on the left warned of racial profiling and innocent people getting caught up in deportations, we were constantly reminded how only the violent convicted criminals would be targeted.

If ICE is going after convicted criminals, they must already know the names, whereabouts, and descriptions of these folks, correct? How are innocent people, including American citizens, being mistakenly identified as violent criminals? It’s not because agents are just rounding up anyone with brown skin, right? Maybe they think it’s easier to round people up first and then find out who they are?

That kind of destroys the argument of “targeted” raids, no?
