Zany Progressive: It was made fairly obvious on Thursday when Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance both attempted to answer a question about their policy proposal for the rising cost of childcare. (Or as I would put it, “You wanna force us to have kids? How you gonna pay for that?!”) You see, when you have children as a millionaire, especially when you’re the father, you aren’t likely to run into a situation where you will learn the cost of diapers, formula, clothes, or the many other costs associated with raising children. You have nannies to care for the kids, unless your wife isn’t working and chooses to do it all herself. These men are so far removed from anything resembling an average American middle-class family that they have no idea what it’s like. Most families have both parents working in order to pay the bills, even though one parent’s income will mostly go to cover the cost of daycare. Speaking of daycare, they don’t have a clue what it costs!
Then you have JD Vance suggesting new parents try asking family members for help. You know, the post-menopausal female? That is her only purpose, you know. How condescending and pretentious of him to give that advice like that’s not the first thing parents would do if it was a possibility. The GOP is no longer the party of family values when the leaders of the party both lack any experience related to an average family and one of them lack any morals or values at all!
