VEEP Cast Together For Fundraising Table Read of Julia Louis-Dreyfus Viral POTUS Reveal

The virtual event will be hosted by Stephen Colbert "in support of helping Dems win up and down the ballot in Wisconsin.” The cast will table read the POTUS reveal episode.

This Sunday, September 29, 2024, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the rest of the Veep cast will be reuniting for a virtual table read and fundraising event in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The event will be hosted by Stephen Colbert, featuring guest stars Jason Alexander of Seinfeld, Kevin Smith, and others. You will find a list of everyone making an appearance at the star-studded event on the Wisconsin Democratic Party website.

From Rolling Stone:

“Tickets for the reading are available to reserve through the official Democratic Party of Wisconsin website. Louis-Dreyfus announced news of the reunion alongside Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler, noting that it’s being hosted “in support of helping Dems win up and down the ballot in Wisconsin.” It doubles as a fundraising event, with viewers donating any amount to join the virtual event.

The final episode of the series aired in 2019, but its popularity and viewership grew four times in light of the circumstances of the 2024 election.

In the POTUS reveal, Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) becomes POTUS when the current President resigns. Did the writers predict this election?

The similarities are responsible for the resurgence of popularity for Veep and the posts on social media from Harris-Walz supporters/Veep fans.

From The Hill:

The Veep cast has reunited several times in recent years for Democratic causes. In 2022, the HBO cast joined stars from “The West Wing” for a fundraiser benefitting the Wisconsin Democratic Party ahead of the midterm elections. The “Veep” cast also participated in a virtual reunion in 2020 to support Joe Biden’s White House bid in Wisconsin, a swing state.

Getting tickets for the event in Milwaukee requires making a donation of any size to the state Democratic Party.
