New Gaza Video: Gideon Levy on 45,000 Dead: “Israel Has Turned Gaza Into Hell”

Last updated on January 1st, 2025 at 01:18 am

I had just shared my new page: The People of Gaza on X when I saw this video in my feed and had to share it here. I welcome anyone speaking the truth and stating the facts of what is happening to innocent Palestinian civilians.

I created the page to spread the word and the truth about what’s really happening in Gaza. The mainstream media isn’t covering the children dying of starvation or the doctors who say they’ve seen many children brought in with gunshots to the head.

Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. South Africa knows it, the UN knows it, and the ICC has an arrest warrant out for Benjamin Netanyahu because he’s ordering it.

It’s time we say “genocide” and “ethnic cleansing”out loud and often. We must ignore the pushback and those who will call us “anti-Semitic.” It’s simply a truth too painful for some to bear.

I report everything that happens in the Middle East on this website, as do independent Progressive news shows (TYT). There is content on the site from the very beginning of the Gaza cease-fire fight.

Some of the images are graphic (I use NSFW covers on the homepage), but to the Palestinians this is their realitypicking up kids’ body parts after a bombing, little kids burning to death after being incinerated by a bomb. If no one looks, no one will know what is really happening there.

Israel spreads propaganda and lies as they target and murder journalists, humanitarian aid workers (9 workers from World Central Kitchen alone. It looks like Netanyahu doesn’t want anyone interfering in his food blockade to starve children to death. TRIGGER WARNING: Before and after image of a girl starved to death up next. I’ll add it to a box that you can “show image” if you want. That way no one will accidentally see something they don’t want to look at.

The Story of Hind

They killed a little girl stuck in a car surrounded by her dead family members.

Her name was Hind. She called Gaza’s version of 911 after a tank had fired on her family’s car as they were evacuating (as instructed to by Israel). The driver, passenger, and another family member in the back seat were killed. Only Hind and her older teen cousin were alive.

You can hear the call: her little voice on the line, tank machine gun fire that killed her cousin, the fear in her voice as an Israeli tank pulled up beside the car. Hind was hiding on the floor of the back seat.

After they located Hind and dispatched an ambulance, she was still on the call.

Then you hear the rapid gunshots of an Israeli tank and Hind screams.

She stopped responding. The tank then shot and killed the 2 EMTs who had just arrived to rescue her.

An uncle was eventually able to get to the car and he found the little girl’s body riddled with bullets.

Gaza protestcolumbia university student takeover of building draped banner outside
Students and outsiders who took over a building on campus during the peace protests hung a banner dedicating the building to Hind.

Can someone please tell me like I’m 6-years-old how any of that could just be an “accident.” The IDF had already shot up the car. When the ambulance driver coordinated his movements with the IDF—which was aware of them going to rescue a little girl in a car. Unfortunately, the ambulance arrived just a few minutes too late.

“Tell the world what is happening here.”

I WILL. —Editor

The IDF is NOT a “moral Army” that is doing everything they can to prevent civilian casualties. After over 50,000 (45,000 plus all of the bodies under rubble) Palestinians have been killed—a majority of them women and children—the idea that they protect civilians is laughable.

Next is an intro to the video above.

Video: Gideon Levy on Gaza

On this episode of Going Underground, we speak to Gideon Levy, veteran columnist of the Haaretz newspaper and author of ‘The Killing of Gaza: Reports on a Catastrophe’.

He discusses his friendship with a Palestinian he calls ‘M’, who he refers to in his new book and in his daily life over the last year.

M is facing Israel’s genocidal slaughter in “Gehenna”, the etymology of the Hebrew word for Gaza, which derives from the word ‘hell’ and Israel’s campaign to turn Gaza into a hell on Earth. Gehenna was a place of child sacrifices according to Jewish tradition, which they labeled “hell on Earth.”

Young Palestinians are writing wills in the occupied West Bank out of fear of death at the hands of the Israeli occupation.

Levy discusses the Israeli leftists’ opposition to Netanyahu and their similarity to Israel’s right-wing in ignoring the genocide and occupation of the Palestinian West Bank.

We’ll talk about how squarely blaming Benjamin Netanyahu is a ‘comfort zone’ which hides the fact that the problems stem from Israel’s society.

We’ll also consider whether Israel will attack Iran before Donald Trump is inaugurated as President of the United States in January 2025.

In the second half of the interview, Levy discusses why he has little hope for Donald Trump’s second term on imposing conditions on aid to Israel to change the behaviour of the Israeli state towards Palestinians.

He’ll describe how terror has become the only avenue for Palestinians to fight for the future and why Palestinian armed resistance will continue against Israel.

He’ll talk about the trends within Israel to authoritarianism even against Israeli Jews, and the convenient ignoring of Israel’s atrocities in Gaza by Israeli society.

They ignore it in order to remain within the comfort zone of calling the rest of the world ‘anti-Semitic’ for opposing Israeli atrocities.

He’ll explain the lack of opposition from major cultural figures and artists in the West and his friendship with Roger Waters who has consistently opposed Israeli occupation.

Finally, Gideon Levy will discuss whether Israel will continue to exist.
