Republicans in the Senate are looking to cut provisions from the Big Fugly Bill because the $3.7 trillion price tag is hard to swallow. (Kinda like your donor’s balls, guys?) The bill currently includes “no tax on tips,” “no tax on overtime,” and tax breaks for seniors, the tax benefits for working Americans that Trump touted on the campaign trail in 2024.
Not for long!
Their explanation for making the Big Fugly Bill even Fuglier by cutting Medicare and all of the provisions that will help the average worker: ‘We want to focus exclusively on the parts of this bill that are “pro-growth”’ when it comes to the economy.
Excuse me?
The more money you funnel to corporations and billionaires, the more money they will hoard. Give money to the rest of us and we will spend it. And what does that do?
Stimulate the economy.
Over the years, production has increased in the U.S. along with the salaries, bonuses, and profits of corporations, shareholders, and CEOs.
If you look at a graph of production vs. wage growth, one line moves upwards steadily. The other line is basically fat. Does that make sense?

Medicare Cuts in the Big Fugly Bill?
I don’t know about you, but I spent my entire adult life working full-time. Every paystub included a line item showing me exactly how much of my money went to Medicare taxes. If Republicans cut Medicare, are they going to send every American a refund check? Are you adding money to the budget in the Big Fugly Bill to buy a few thousand boxes of checks at Staples?
They are so dysfunctional and corrupt that they take all of our money (that we pay in taxes) and give it to the rich or send it to Israel (which has universal healthcare and paid family leave. We don’t. We “can’t afford it.” F**k you, Congress. We’re actually the only developed country that doesn’t treat health care as a basic human right).
The bill will increase the Defense budget to over $1 trillion. The Big Fugly Bill costs $3.7 trillion over a decade. This is over $1 trillion for just ONE year.
While I’m bitching about spending, do you know how much we, the taxpayers, spent on just the interest that accumulated on our national debt last year? Almost $1 TRILLION.
Imagine all of the amazing things we could do in this country with that money. Wasted.
Republicans love to clutch their pearls over the deficit when a Democrat is in office and they’re proposing legislation that spends money on the country or the average person in it.
When a Republican president is in office, they will spend like they’re drunk (or on ketamine). Trump added $8 trillion to the debt his first term and is now going to add an additional $4-5 trillion.
In fact, in its first 100 days, this administration has already spent more than any other administration in the same time period.
More Wasteful Spending
Beyond the trillions from the tax cuts for the rich, there are a few other notable expenditures so far this term:
Sources: golf trips, Marines, military parade
I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but over time, our government has taken money away from education, infrastructure, and anything that benefits us. Our government has become so corrupt that members of Congress haven’t worked for their constituents in a very long time. They work for their donors. Period.
How do we fix it?
Get money out of politics. Vote out every old, rich, corrupt member of Congress. Keep the progressives and Justice Democrats, since they don’t take corporate PAC money.
This is where our democracy breaks down. If our politicians don’t rely on us for their campaign donations, they aren’t going to work for us. Until these corrupt f**kers get voted out of their seats, they aren’t going to care what the American people want.

To recap, we get rid of the corrupt dinosaurs, keep the non-corrupt members, and elect populist candidates who will work hard to get the policies in the Populist Plank passed.
The Populist Plank was created by Cenk Uyger of TYT and Rebellion PAC, a group that’s discovering and promoting authentic, progressive candidates (economic populists) to run in upcoming elections. Forward-thinking people, like Representative Ro Khanna, have already signed the Plank. If you’re interested, you can sign the Populist Plank here.

As usual, my “ADD Moments” got out of control. This article is about Senate Republicans working on their version of the Big Fugly Bill. They want to lower the amount being added to the debt, so instead of lowering the amount they’re giving millionaires and billionaires in tax cuts, they’re thinking of cutting Medicare and the only provisions in the bill that would improve the lives of working Americans.
I can’t think of anything more disgusting and overtly corrupt than that. The saddest part of this: Republicans will continue to be re-elected to Congress and state governments—where they have the highest rates of poverty, worst education systems, and highest number of uninsured residents.
I’ll never understand why they choose to vote against their own best interests (other than those who belief that Democrats are “Satanic pedophiles drinking the blood of children”). I suppose a corrupt politician is the better candidate in that scenario.
